Debbie was baptized as an infant at the Central Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, Georgia. Debbie grew up in Atlanta and she has been a life-long Presbyterian. She was ordained to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament in 1986 after graduating from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in 1978 and from Columbia Theological Seminary in 1986 with a Master of Divinity degree. Her passion in ministry is for preaching, teaching, youth ministry and outreach ministries. She believes that being a disciple of Jesus Christ means engaging with the scriptures of guidance and support in the “living of these days”. But it also means walking the walk of faith and engaging in our communities to minister to “the least of these.” Debbie is married to Jesse K. Osterhoudt and they have four grown children and one adorable grandson. She enjoys golf, boating, hiking, and sewing.
